Regarding this ‘deal” with Iran… I haven’t read all of the specifics, but I think we can all agree that Iran is a pretty brutal dictatorship with a stated intent to destroy Israel, and wipe them off the map. God won’t let that happen, of course, but still. My point, is that the only deal that can be made with the devil… is one that is made with his own children. People of light can see right through the garbage and lies and deception.
You can never control the nature of another person. People are going to do what they’re going to do no matter what anyone or anything says on paper or otherwise, or who’s allowed to check up on them. Get real with reality, people. If it is Iran’s intent to build a bomb, that’s what they will continue to be doing. As it is, there are sanctions in place that are suffering that country, yet they continued to take steps forward to build a nuclear program? Think of the agreement God had with His people WAAAY back when, and what was going on before Moses even had come back down from the mountain?! They couldn’t keep to that agreement for 40 days!
I mean, I can tell my kid all day long not to eat that Halloween candy that’s up in the cupboard and I can fool myself into thinking he’s doing good and obeying ‘our agreement” to only have some with permission… and in front of my face and in general he is the picture of obedience. I want to trust him, too! But it still won’t change the fact that when I go into his room, I can find little candy bar wrappers behind the door in his closet that he thinks I’m not going to see. You see what I’m saying here?
You can’t change the nature of people! They can only do that for themselves. They’re going to find a way to do whatever the heck they want to do, and only a fool would think otherwise. Iran is no different.
You can’t make a deal with someone who doesn’t HAVE INTEGRITY. Frankly, I don’t think that any party to this agreement has integrity, but that is for another post.
Once again, God is shown to be absolutely BRILLIANT in His every single design. You see, that’s why Jesus came. To save us from ourselves when we were showing over and over again we could not achieve salvation on our own. We aren’t worthy – none of us are – and originally, salvation was just for God’s own people, the Jews. In fact, many of them still think that today. But ultimately, it is the people of integrity in God’s word (the Bible) all over the world… who through FAITH in Jesus, Jew or Gentile, no matter their lineage… will be the victors of that reward. WOO HOO!!! Wow. God is awesome.
