So, what would Jesus do?

I’ve come to believe, after reading and reading the Bible – no, I haven’t read the whole thing, but I’m getting there – that all of life is one big, long, test of FAITH. Old Testament or New, it does not matter.

And it sure doesn’t help that this world is the domain of the evil one, the great liar and deceiver, who himself puts thoughts and doubts and rationalizations and fears and the so-called wisdom of almighty man into our brains and into the very fabric of our lives and our loved ones, and GOD ALLOWS THIS. For what? Testing purposes. Can there be no absolute faith in God anymore, that it must not be cross checked with almighty MAN??  And who created man?  What a twisted world we have come to live in when the sanity check we are all seeking and hoping to get, is one from another human being, subject to the same deceptions, doubts, rationalizations, fears, and so-called wisdom of almighty men. To please who? Other humans. Ourselves. And who is not guilty of this? You are. I am.

When you’re sick, is finding a way to cheat death (if you can) the answer, or is putting your faith in God, and encouraging others to do the same with ALL your heart, soul, and mind, the answer? What is better – praying day and night that God’s plan for your life is the best answer for you and that He is capable of turning your faith in Him into something greater for the world (or even just for you)… or fighting like hell to remain alive for longer?  Would you make a deal with the devil to live longer?  What is the point of living longer if it is not for God’s purpose but our own? And if we seek man’s self-proclaimed, infinitely wise counsel, are we putting less faith in God? Or are we just rationalizing our fears and essentially, our lack of faith? Aren’t we?

God said to Abraham in Genesis 18:14 “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”

Yet these decisions are not easy ones for our earthly perspectives and thinking, and that is why I’ve come to believe that all of life is a test. And by their very nature, tests aren’t easy. That’s why they ARE tests. Except that these are the tests that the timelines of our lives are made of, and so from an earthly perspective, what could matter more than the current decisions we are facing? And if all of life is a test, what is it a test FOR?  I mean… where is our allegiance? With the world? or with God?  We certainly cannot ride the line. “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” (Rev 3:15-16) Yikes.

So the question is… What Would Jesus Do?  WHAT WOULD JESUS DO??

God is the answer, people. He does not change – but it’s easy to be fooled, because the scenery sure has, and so has the rat race… and of course none of us here in America are traveling by donkey… but “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Heb 13:8)  Or is God just someone written about in an old book in the nightstand at a roadside motel, that we give lip service to, because we feel like we should.

From the bottom of my heart, may God bless all people truly having the courage to live by faith and not by sight. IT IS NOT EASY, but it is right, and I pray you have the strength to continue.

Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

Jeremiah 32:27
“I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”
